Fuzzy Feeling Friday: Camp Corner!
By: Thomas G Barker
Conference Event Coordinator

Greetings Fellow Bloggies/Blogettes! It is with a heavy heart that I bring you today's poetry corner. Why with a heavy heart? It is the last day of Camp! :( But I must hold my head high for I have had the time of my life! I have made new friends and rekindled old friendships and have memories galore to share with you until Camp 2011! Without further delay I present:
Camp Corner!

Lively Ivy

Lively Ivy grows from the ground
Lively Ivy makes no sound
Lively Ivy is hidden quite well
Lively Ivy has not a smell
Lively Ivy has three leaves
Lively Ivy can sneak through your sleeves
Lively Ivy why do you grow?
Lively Ivy will I ever know?
Lively Ivy I do not miss
Lively Ivy's subtle soft kiss
Lively Ivy you gave me great pain
Lively Ivy may we never meet again!

Lost in the Woods

Hide and Go Seek is a great game to play
When everyone playing all knows the way
Knowing who is playing is also the key
When my camper played, he never told me
So in a great panic, my mind all a fluster
Searching great depths, some never seen by a duster
So deep to the woods I now set out
Frantically looking, I stop and shout out:
"Where are you Jimmy? Can you hear my voice?"
Remembering he can't hear for he has not that choice!
For Jimmy is deaf and cannot hear a sound
Now lost in the woods I wait to be found
When off in the distance I see a small light
As the shadow approaches, Jimmy's now in my sight
With a look of relief I hug him and sign
Where have you been? Are you doing just fine?
He smiles and he signs, to the bathroom I went
You know where we are? Just behind our own tent
I look at Jimmy with toilet paper in hand
Without hesitation I know where I stand!
The moral of the story, always keep in mind
Watch where you walk for more than a child you may find!

Berries and Bears

Berries and bears are like a couple you know
Where one is hiding the other will show
Never distant for long they both can be found
Nestled together right close to the ground
With a short season they do what they can
To nourish each other that is the great plan
We have something to learn from the berries and bears
That there is more to life when somebody shares!

Until the next blog,

Cheer Loud, Cheer Long, Cheer Often!
