Fuzzy Feeling Friday - Poetry Corner
"Skating Figure 87's Around the Competition"
By Thomas G Barker
Conference Events Coordinator

Greetings Fellow Bloggies/Blogettes! It is I, your linguistically challenged yet colourful Captain writing, preparing you for another fantastic voyage through Fuzzy Feeling Friday - Poetry Corner! Today's Picasso-esk Poetry Production is inspired by the fresh smell of Zamboni exhaust as the Legion 87's and other hockey clubs take to the ice in preparation for the 2010-2011 Hockey season. As everyone prepares for the upcoming season, we here at HHN would like to wish you all a safe and successful season.

The Anthe

As strong and noble warriors, we take the ice with pride
With teamwork and commitment, we make our every stride
For together we move forward, leaving no teammate behind
We practice to make perfect, our skills are well defined
Our goal is not just to win, but to be the best that we can be
Our efforts will be noticed, just you wait and see!
For we are the Legion 87's, and our best we will give to you
The community that supports us, we are your white, red and blue!

Old Friend

Musky aromas fill the air as players' unite with one room to share
With tape a flying your walls hold strong, echoing the chants of the Home team's song
Through the good and bad you see them through, you help them grow as people too!
Overlooked at time, you still stand tall and help the staff and players through it all!
With you, Locker Room, we wish to share, our own true shelves if we so dare
With our sticks held high we do salute, To you old friend your own tribute!

The Rush

I dart outside slamming all doors, jump into the car, start the engine, it roars
Starting to see the morning light, Tire spin as I drive out of sight
It is morning practice and I'm late again, the number 1 goalie they will begin to complain
I rush through the rink to meet with the team as we all prepare for the morning routine
As I swing open the door who should appear, but little old me and all of my gear
I think to myself, could I be this late, have they all finished, have I got the right date
Then all of a sudden, it all becomes clear - why I was the only one standing right here!
It is our day off, for tomorrow we play, the coach likes us to rest before each game day!

Until the next blog,

Cheer Loud, Cheer Long, Cheer Often!
