You'd never think that the recovery room of a hospital in Sudbury would be the place that friendships were formed. That's exactly where Ray Auclair of Timmins and Don Turcotte of North Bay met. Both men were there for open heart surgery and both men had a love for the game of hockey. With these two things in common they became friends. During their 5 day stay in the hospital they made a deal with each other that centered around their love of the game. One year after their surgery they would go to Hockey Heritage North and spend the day.

On Saturday April 14, it was our pleasure to meet these two remarkable men. They spent a good part of the day touring Hockey Heritage North and reminiscing together about the game. We thought this was a wonderful story so we took their picture to put on our blog to share with everyone. It was great meeting Ray and Don and we hope to see them back to Hockey Heritage North soon.
