Former NHL defenseman Jim Mair born in Schumacher, Ont. Mair played in the NHL 1970-71 through 1974-75 with Philadelphia, the New York Islanders and Vancouver.

In one of hockey's biggest trades, Phil Esposito, Ken Hodge and Fred Stanfield were traded from Chicago to Boston in exchange for Gilles Marotte, Pit Martin and Jack Norris.

May 15, 1967
Toronto Maple Leafs traded Eddie Shack to the Boston Bruins, in exchange for center Murray Oliver.
